Christmas Break!

Hello!
A whole month off from school! Just what everyone needed (I think everyone would agree, too!).

The last day of school was a great day! One of my best friends got home from her mission!! Me and a few of her friends met up and went to the airport to welcome her home. Oh man, the last 18 months feel like nothing now that she's home. Seems like she never left :)
Well we hung out a bunch that week and that Friday we (Jessica, Aubs and I) went to pick up a friend she met on her mission, Ethan! We left Friday night and spent the night a
t Aubs' aunts house-- played games and just sat around with her family. It was fun. Then Saturday morning, we went to the airport to pick up Ethan. Afterwards we went right to the Las Vegas strip. It was a blast. I got to see the new addition. It was fabulous. I finally got to experience my first time at The Cheesecake Factory. Mmm!

This is us watching the water show at the bilagio! It was awesome. Ethan wasn't paying attention the picture
Jessica and I also got our Christmas tree over the break! The day after school was out. It was a blast. Our friend James from our college ward tagged along and helped us get it! It was fun, however, the snow was covering the full length of Jessica's legs. It was lame at the time, but so fun when I look back at it.

Our Christmas ornaments were so cute! I love them. Our tree was a little retarded but that's okay. We made it look cute!

For Christmas Eve I went to St. George with my Grandpa to my big sister, Lydia's house. It was fun! I love being with my sisters and nieces and nephew. It's great fun!

Then in conclusion of this wonderful Christmas Break, Jessica and I are going to Price to spend the New Year with my cousin :) It's going to be funnn! Then we have a week left to do whatever we want to before school starts.

It's been an awesome break!

Why I'm Mormon :)

Today was one of the most spiritual Sabbath's I have had in along time so I'm going to take this time and tell everyone why I'm happy with the choice I have made by becoming a latter-day saint.

  • The happiness that you feel from being a member of this Church is indescribable! I have never felt so happy in my entire life.
  • Knowing that families can be together forever. If a family member doesn't accept the gift in this life, I know through faith, that I will be with them in my next life.
  • The Book of Mormon. It's the true word of God. Without this marvelous book, I wouldn't be the member that I am, today. It most definitely serves as an anchor in my life.
  • The power of Prayer. I know, according to His will, that our prayers will be answered. Even if it is months down the road.
  • The Prophet. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet of God. That he get's direct revelation from God to guide us through our lives and show us what we can do to return with God and His son Jesus Christ.
  • The lifestyle of the Church. I was once asked, "What if you go to Heaven and find out that the Church isn't true?" Well, I know that it is the true Church. But if that did happen, I would know that I lived a good life and I wouldn't have changed it for the life of me.
  • Temples. The house of the Lord. Where you can leave the world and worries behind you as you enter the doors of the most holy place on earth. Where you can make ordinances with our Father in Heaven.

This Church, honestly, makes complete sense to me. Everything I learn about it just fits in perfectly and has the most explainable reasons.

That is why I'm a Mormon :)

Gratitude

Hello Bloggers!!

This is the season of being grateful for the things we have in life-- I don't even know where to begin. I have had so many blessings in my life this year I don't even know where to start.

To just name a few:

Family-
I don't even know where to begin! I have the best sisters anyone could ever ask for. Lydia, my biggest sister, practically my mother when I grew up. I couldn't be more thankful for her encouragement, uplifting and supporting attitude she has with everything. Candace, the second oldest (the middle child hahaha jk candace), is always there to listen when I'm sad. From stupid guys to the stress of finals. Jennifer, my wombmate, I couldn't ask for a better twin sister. It's weird how I can feel what is going on with each other. It's nice to know when someone knows I'm sad or happy. To have someone know you more than you might even know yourself. My sisters are the world to me. I wouldn't be here without them and their daily upliftings.

Friends-
I have amazing friends! Now that I'm in college I have the opportunity to live with some of them! Jessica, a friend since Junior year in High School and now my roommate. We were roommates once before and then moved out and we're roommates again. We are always doing spontaneous things. I can never get enough of it. Aubrie, one of the best examples I have in my life. She is currently serving a full time mission. I always look forward to the days I get her email or letter. She always has the most amazing words of advice to get through the hard times in life.

Opportunity of school-
I always dread school when I'm in the motion of it. However, when I look back at it, especially now that it's coming to a haul I'm so grateful that I can go get an education to only better my life. There is nothing negative about receiving an education and using it. It's a great place to be and it's only going to take you to a greater place in your future.

Service-
Like the commandment says "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Being in the Singles ward, I have opportunities to go to the service Saturday's. I haven't done that many... but when I do, I feel so good about everything. My day goes more smoothly and I also get to make someone's day. When I'm stressing out the most, I always like to take time to do something for someone else. Especially if they have helped me out, for example, in class. I would feel selfish if I didn't. My sister, Lydia, loves doing service projects and I can hardly wait to know what she's doing next and if I can help her. Yes, Lydia, I want to help you!!

Well, I think this is a pretty good list of what I'm most grateful for. Thanks for reading!

Love you all!
